Quantification of Phorbol-12-myristate 13-acetate in Jatropha seed oil and cake at different stages of fruit maturity

The current study investigates the influence of fruit maturity on Phorbol-12-myristate 13-acetate content in Jatropha seed oil as well cake. fruits used this were harvested from three different geographical locations Botswana at four stages, namely green yellow, yellow brown and dry. Phorbol esters cake quantified using High-Performance Liquid Chromatography. Results reveal that phorbol ester seeds varies with stage. had highest value, hence was most toxic. ranges 3.4 to 4.2 mg/g whereas it 1.7 2.0 during stages investigated. Influence location is insignificant.
